I know Cali is having one heck of a heatwave this year. Us Texas folk are getting smacked in the face with the old summer furnace too! Today it is a delightful 95 with high humidity! BLAH! I had to mow the lawn at around 7:30 this morning to avoid the heat.

Blah...you can have it Carrie...I don't mind heat, but this dang humidity is terrible. You take a shower, step outside, and you need another shower!
80's sounds wonderful!

It's been cooler here than normal a lot lately. It was in the 50s the other night and the 70s most of the day reaching into the lower 80s. Today though seems pretty classic for June in Alabama...warm, humid, and you could bake a cake in your car. Nothing like getting in to drive home with a 130 heat index!

All last week temps were over the 100s. Although I live in the desert, it's high elevation over 3200' so it cools down in the afternoon and there is always a breeze. Thankfully we don't have humidity...that would make it terribly unbearable. We lived in Oklahoma for a summer and it would be 115 deg with high humidity...it almost took your breath away! I feel for you Mystic! Today is 95 and this week is supposed to be in the mid to low 90s..cooled down a little bit. Luckily there is a mountain range behind us so when the sun goes down it gets cooler faster because it drops behind the peak sooner than it would by the beach.

Yes--our heatwave broke over the weekend--FINALLY!!!! But now---we have to deal with the smoke from all the fires!! YIKES!!! They said that there was something like 700 fires burning in the state right now--WOW OH WOW!!! Some were started by lightening strikes-like the ones that are burning in Morgan Hill (where Phil was), a lot of them were started by the "fire bugs". So needless to say, I can hardly see the hills that are about 3 miles (max) from my house. YUCK!!!! It's giving me a headache and is messing with the allergies!!!
(At least it's not 105 outside!!!)

Mystic---I soo know what you mean about the humidity--as an Iowa transplant--I totally understand humidity---it's YUCKY!!!!!

We've gone from flooded creeks/rivers &water pouring in our basement like a waterfall to hot, hot, hot. Yesterday we had hail. That made for painful grilling. If you don't like Indiana weather, wait 10 minutes & it will change.

Ok, so here we are, yet another day of choking on the smoke. They said that lightening strikes started 800 fires in the state over the weekend!!! YIKES!!!! And you thought I was kidding when I said the state is on fire!!! HAHAHA---Seriously though, it's actually a little chilly due to the fact that the heat from the sun can get through the smoke!! Go figure!!!

Rain cooled temperatures right now...
We just had a lovely little storm dump much needed rain on the lawn. Good thing...my grass is several shades of brown right now.

Lori...Wait until you see your air filter for you car!...mine was so black in the 2003 CA wildfires!..Thank God the body filters out toxins!

Still smoky here. Real smoky. I've posted a couple of pics taken from my front door over on myspace. Just to show the wonderful air "quality" we have here. Of course, when we got up this morning, it smelled like a campfire. :) (A nice change from burning grass/weeds smell.)

Yep that about describes my weather also. Hot, humid, and thunderstorms. Nothing new or exciting for Florida. Same weather, different day :)

I remember the terrible humidity and electrical t-storms when we lived in Oklahoma for a summer...that and the tornados were too much for my Cali born and bred mother with 3 small children...we moved back lol.

Today was a beautiful, sunny, breezy 87 degrees...cooling down already since the sun is going down..

We had some storms tonight...it was nice...the wind was great and we needed the rain, but it did keep us out of the pool. :P

Ok--so the smoke has cleared---just a teeny tiny wee bit!!! We can see the hills out the front door. But forget about seeing the surrounding mountains. Doesn't stink either--THANK GOD!!! We're suppose to have a good chance of thunder-storms this weekend--GREAT!!! (Being sarcastic here hahahaha). That's what started all this fire mess. But hopefully it will rain--good for clearing out the air!

I hope it rains for you but NO lightning. We are at 84 degrees with humidity at 75% so it is yucky again today. Oh and the storms are rolling in as I type and it looks like it is going to be a wild one!!!
