Hey Everyone! It's hard to keep up to everyone and what they have been up to this summer, so let us update our shenanigans here...it's alot easier to touch base here than FB!

Let me see...so far this summer, I have of coarse gone campin alot with Fam and Friends...we always have a great time, great food, and greater laughter! Did some boating as well. My sons have moved out and my daughter would like to move out, but she is stuck with me for four more glorious years. We have attended two fairs thus far and spent too much money as usual, but hey...it helps the economy! Found some cute little kleenex box covers that look like a couch, so bought like seven of them....when I got home, I discovered how they were made, so now that will be my sewing projects for awhile for Fam and Friends.I have painted some house walls and working on trim....slow process for a working Momma. I have attended two graduations and will be attending a wedding of my brother and girlfriend of 12 years in late July. I bought some real cool shoes ...Skechers Shape Ups...AMAZING!!! My feet no longer hurt after work! If any of ya have feet, legg, or back problems, I highly recommend you try out these amazing shoes! A lot of nurses are now wearing these to work and many of my friends have them and will never buy another brand. A little pricey, but well worth the comfort and relief given! Looking forward to seeing Eclipse(movie) with some girlfriends that are hott and heavy for some vampire action....we are so pathetic! Celebrated my 25th anniversary with a wonderful man...Thanks Huney for the memories! Went to a Fly In Drive In breakfast at the airport and also the Dairy Breakfast on the Farm...always good food.Funny how this is the year for running into old high school mates and catching up after not seeing em for years...my how time flies....and changes people.Anyways, that's it thus far....have a few Wisc Dells trips planned for me girl and we are gonna be going to the House on the Rock soon. That is a house built on a rock by Frank Lloyd Wright. So that is the start of my summer and have only so many days to fit more in before the snow flies....why were summers so long when we were kids? Anyways....what have all the Wizettes and Wizards been up to?

Sounds like a fun summer Woa! I'm packing for 10 days in Colorado - ready to get out of this heat. Then it's back here to melt to death and keep the chickies busy until school starts.

Well, my lovely lady, since you ask, I will tell!
Summer so far has meant horses. Our first show of the season was canceled for rain AS I was leading the horses to the trailer to ship! GRRR! LOL! Then we had Maggie's (my oldest) County Qualifier for 4H. Her first time showing at the canter and over fences. She had a pretty rough day but managed to qualify in the last available spot on the County Team. We travel to Deerfield, NH, July 15-18 for her to ride in 4H State Horse Show! IF she qualifies for State Team, we will then have to travel (w/ horse) to Massachusetts for five days in September for her to compete at The Big E.
We had our first open show last Sunday. Rinnie (my younger daughter) was supposed to move up to Walk/Trot but her mare dumped her pretty good the previous Thursday so she went in Leadline. She got a fifth in Walk/Trot Showmanship, a first in Leadline Equitation, and a third in Leadline Pleasure. And she was Day End Champion for Leaadline. She's VERY proud of that tricolor ribbon hanging on her pony's stall! :) In my Adult Walk/Trot classes, I got sixth in Showmanship (I stink at that and so does Star but we placed in a class of ten), a fifth in Equitation, nothing in Pleasure or Rail Discipline (had no clue what I was doing either for RD! LOL! Now I know!) and a fifth in Trail. Maggie got a third in Showmanship, a first in NH 4H Junior Equitation, a fourth in Pleasure, nothing in either of her Champion classes, a second in Road Hack, a second in Open Hunter Hack (competing over fences against adults!), and a second in Trail. She was Day End Junior English Reserve Champion.
Schooling at home this week, it looks like Rinnie and Sassy are getting along again in the ring. So much so, I even let Meg pony them on a short trail ride. Meg has been putting together some great rides at home, schooling over fences twice a week, prepping for States. The ponies are doing great other than the flies really bothering them both. They're allergic and get hives from the bites. Even with fly spray, masks, and sheets, they get chewed on. I'm still doing barn twice a week. Still looking for a clerical job that I can mostly do from home. Been rearranging things in the house to make it work better for me and the kids. The ex is moving out of his room August 1 so we will finally have the divorce finished!
Master and I are still going strong. It was a year June 16. Still doing the long distance thing. I drive half an hour there and back twice a week to see him. And I miss him like crazy the rest of the time. :) Other than that, just been doing the usual stuff....housework, laundry, cooking, driving kids around.......

Thanks hobo! What's new with you, Sunshine?

Yes Karen, I remember the adventure..."to infinity and beyond!"....the Love Chair....the Wizard and his ....wand! Great fun with great friends! Should do it again sometime!

Jen....ten days in Co? Ya campin or hikin or loungin??? Have fun!

Steph...my oh my you Ladies have been busy! Sounds like you all are doin a fantasic job! Poor horses and flies....I have heard you should put like 6 pennies in a baggie with water and seal em...hang em around the area....I guess the flies don't like the penny/water visuals when the sun hits the pkg....flies have many lenses on each eye and it really reeks havoc with their sight and navigation....or so I have heard from others that use this simple homemade method. Ya know...if ex is movin out, maybe Master can ...sleep over now and again....hmmmmm? huh???? Have a great July 4th weekend everyone!

It has been hot as Hades here in Florida. Fortunaately, the oil spill has not affected us here in the southern Gulf area. It is being constantly watched, and I am ready to "Dawn" the seabirds if it should get here. I am hoping that it gets plugged soon.
This has been one of the biggest crimes against the environment ever!
On a more pleasant note, I attended the Suncoast Grand Prix and got to see Travis race the Time Bandit on its'
debut run. He came in third in his category, but he is happy as can be. He was the throttle man. He said that at some points with the bouncing around on the rough waters that it ws worse than the Bering sea! Can you imagine that!
I also got to see and chat with Johnathan who was there also. A great day, even the rain held off.

Went to Sarasota last week with my "roomie" Chip and had a great time. Had a great time with the girls. Cindi, Carrie, and Jax came in on Saturday and we got to spend some time together, Velvet, Heather, Lucy and Deb were also there, and we all laughed so hard our faces and sides hurt. Had a good time chatting with Capt John also. Really missed Capt Keith this year, just not the same without him there. On Sunday, met up with Heather and Sandy and spent some quality time with them also. Saw Trav and Bob in the new TB racing boat finishing a race for the 1st time and coming in 3rd. I thought Trav's face was gonna get stuck in permasmile afterwards. He was so very happy, and I was happy for him. Great fireworks display that night, we could see it from our room. AND..on the way home from Sarasota, Chip picked up a "hitchhiker" named Sparky..her new doxie puppy..and I got to hold him until she dropped me off at the the Jacksonville Airport. He's such a cutie and gives great puppy kisses. All in all a great time. Next weekend I'm going to Painesville, Ohio to see John at a music festival..that should be fun also. And of course, gearing up for Astoria in September...so busy summer for me. Miss y'all!! (((HUGS)))

I've been busy trying to buy my house, doing a little traveling, and hanging out with friends from far and wide. :) It's been a good summer for me for sure! I do hope that things can get moving along concerning the house though, it's getting down to the wire and I'm still waiting for some important things to be done.

Happy family birthday barrelracer09! lol! :)

I'm off to Montana tomorrow for a vacation with my son and my mom. We will be in Big Sky for a few days and then down to Yellowstone for a couple days. I can't wait to get out of this Florida heat! I've been to Montana twice in the winter but never in the summer. I hear it's beautiful, I can't wait to find out :-)

Liz I hope everything gets settled with the house, it is so nerve racking. I will never forget the day we bought our first house I came home afterwards to eat lunch and go back to work, turned on the tv to the news the Challenger had blown up, I will never forget that day. Our summer has been fairly busy with travel and family...and of course our new puppy...

It's not looking too good at the moment Chip. I'm really stressed out about it. Trying not to be, but it's getting very hard to stay positive. Part of me wonders if it's God shutting doors, but also, why be brought this far to lose it now. *Le Sigh...

Sandy and Kimmers...glad you had fun in Sarasota and I totally agree with ya, Sandy, on the spill!

My summer has come to a screechin halt as I gracefuly injured my knee at my Bro's wedding last Saturday....I see a specialists next Tuesday. In meantime, I am sidelined from work, icing and elevating it and gettin around with crutches. One Doc thinks I tore some cartelidge...we will see what other Doc says. Really pisses me off, as I am a on the go, go, go kinda gal and now I lay around watchin reuns of Judge Judy shows and A Baby Story....usually end up fallin asleep though. Dammit! I hate watchin the world go by! Continue on World!

July 28, 2010 | Registered Commenterwoasisss

Thinkin me hair needs a dye job soonish...maybe that will make me feel 29 again. LOL! Here's a question for ponderment.....why in the heck do I cry everytime I watch A Baby Story...I try not to, but when that baby comes into the world, I bawl like....well, a baby! Gosh, I gotta come up with something else to do while flat on my back! Maybe I should work on some artsey projects..maybe I should take up reading....maybe I should pen some poetry....maybe I should just take a napp coz I am sleepy!
